Almost in the corner of Europe, the location of Caceres has made it a natural stopping place for the many peoples that have passed through Spain throughout history, both from Europe (Visigoths, Romans) and Africa. This enriching multicultural past has given Caceres an appreciation for maintaining strong relations with other countries and nations. This can be seen in the art and architecture of the historic centre of Caceres.
